The Annual Drone Safety Day is Scheduled for April 29, 2023

In the United States, drones are experiencing rapid growth and have become the fastest-growing sector of aviation. According to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) records as of January, over 871,000 drones have been registered, and more than 307,000 Remote Pilots have been certified. These figures are expected to increase, and it is essential for all drone operators to prioritize both safety and enjoyment while flying.

Drone Safety Day (DSD) is a yearly initiative that aims to educate the drone community about the criticality of safe flying practices. Through in-person, virtual, and hybrid events in focus areas such as Education, Economics, Equity, Environment, and Emergencies, DSD emphasizes the societal, economic, and safety benefits of responsible drone operations.

To learn more about how you can participate, download the 2023 Drone Safety Day Playbook and 2023 Drone Safety Day Flyer. These resources provide an overview of what Drone Safety Day entails and offer suggestions for organizing your own DSD event. Additionally, you can visit the FAA’s Drone@Home page for ideas on how to participate from the comfort of your own home.

When you’re ready, register your event. And don’t forget to “Fly Right”:
