Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has introduced the Rotem Alpha – a groundbreaking Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) tactical loitering munition. The system features a battle-tested antitank warhead, a top-tier sensor suite, and extended mission endurance.

Unveiled for the first time at DSEI London, the Rotem Alpha boasts remarkable endurance during flight and while in perch mode. It can operate at low altitudes, gathering crucial situational intelligence and executing precision attacks, even in adverse weather conditions. The autonomous sensor suite of the Rotem Alpha adeptly detects and pinpoints hostile enemy threats, including artillery, rockets, and missile launchers.

The Rotem Alpha is portable by individual soldiers. An individual can easily transport it in a backpack or dismounted from a vehicle, ensuring swift deployment. As a VTOL platform, it can take off and land in challenging terrains, such as between trees and structures, providing versatility and adaptability in various operational scenarios.

IAI President Boaz Levy commented, “What sets the Rotem Alpha apart is its portability. It can be easily transported by an individual in a backpack or dismounted from a vehicle, ensuring swift deployment. As a VTOL platform, it can take off and land in challenging terrains, such as between trees and structures, providing versatility and adaptability in various operational scenarios.” (Press Release)
