Skye Air Mobility, a Gurugram-based drone delivery firm, has partnered with Pierce Aerospace, a U.S.-based Remote ID and Combat ID technology provider for Uncrewed Aircraft Systems.

The partnership will integrate Pierce Aerospace’s Remote ID services with Skye Air Mobility’s drone delivery platforms and Skye UTM. Skye UTM is Skye Air’s proprietary Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) platform. This will allow for real-time drone tracking that will, in turn, enhance the safety and security of the airspace.

According to Pierce Aerospace, its Flight Portal ID UAS Technologies will work with Skye Air Mobility’s proprietary UTM platform. Skye UTM is a cloud-based drone traffic management system that combines unmanned and manned aviation traffic. Flight Portal ID consists of Remote ID receivers, broadcast modules, software, integration capabilities, and remote administration services.

Skye Air Mobility supports drone delivery in over ten states across India. Flipkart (Walmart Group), Dunzo, Swiggy, BlueDart DHL, Redcliffe Labs, and Aster Healthcare are a few of the existing clients. It has delivered over one million packages and has covered an aerial distance of 12,800 km.

Ankit Kumar, CEO of Skye Air, commented, “Having completed more than one-million package deliveries, we believe it’s the right time to introduce Pierce Aerospace’s Remote ID capabilities for enterprises and the government to manage traffic and have real-time UAS tracking through combined solutions. Skye Air is uniquely positioned both as a service provider and user for the combined (UTM + RID) offerings.”

“We’re working with the Skye Air team on concepts that will work in India’s rapidly growing drone market,” says Aaron Pierce, CEO of Pierce Aerospace. “Our infrastructure approach to Remote ID aids Skye Air’s growth and integrates their UTM with our Remote ID services that enhance the safety and security of their commercial operations.”
