Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace (KONGSBERG) has entered into an agreement facilitated by the International Fund for Ukraine to supply and donate Counter Uncrewed Aerial Systems (C-UAS) to Ukraine.
The delivery includes multiple CORTEX Typhon systems, meticulously designed to effectively neutralize a broad range of UAVs by employing measures to inflict physical damage or incapacitate the aerial menace. The total contract amount stands at GBP 56 million.
“This contract will provide a significant capability boost for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and will support their ability to protect their people and defend their country against aerial threats,” says Eirik Lie, President of Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace.
The CORTEX Typhon C-UAS incorporates battle-tested software and hardware derived from Teledyne Flir and KONGSBERG, featuring a surveillance system along with KONGSBERG Remote Weapon Station (RWS) and CORTEX Integrated Combat Solution (ICS).
Included in the delivery, the Norwegian Government has generously provided Dingo 2 vehicles, KONGSBERG RWS, and weaponry.
The International Fund for Ukraine (IFU) was established through collaborative efforts involving the UK and global partners, with the goal of identifying and swiftly acquiring critical capabilities for Ukraine. Notably, Norway and the UK stand among numerous nations contributing to this fund.
