Rob D’Amico has been appointed to Dedrone’s Board of Advisors. D’Amico brings 35 years of government service from the Marines and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to Dedrone, along with his expertise in intelligence and law enforcement. At the FBI, he played a major role in U.S. counter-terrorism efforts, and was most recently the FBI’s Chief of the Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (Counter-UAS) team. At Dedrone, he will advise as the company continues to expand its Counter-UAS solution for law enforcement and global counterterrorism efforts.

D’Amico made the following statement about his new venture with Dedrone, “I have worked with Dedrone in various capacities over the last few years and am excited to officially join the company’s Advisory Board as it gears up for significant growth in the wake of burgeoning demand for airspace security. While counterintelligence agencies and law enforcement have long recognized the need to protect our airspace, drone threats are escalating at such a pace that organizations, events, prisons, and more are making 3D security part of their strategic safety plan. Dedrone is well positioned to lead the market, and I’m eager to provide my experience and expertise to the team.”

D’Amico has served in top levels of federal law enforcement, most recently being Chief Security Officer for 1/ST, a horse racing and entertainment company. Before that, he was with the FBI’s Counter-UAS Program. His other FBI roles have been Legal Attaché to the US Embassy Kabul and has led all FBI operations in Afghanistan. He has also participated in some of the United States’ most sensitive and highly visible operations and investigations worldwide. D’Amico has been the recipient of both the FBI’s and Royal Canadian Mounted Police’s highest medals for commendable achievement.

The CEO of Dedrone, Aaditya Devarakonda, has made a few comments about D’Amico joining the team. “We’ve had the privilege of working with Rob in his previous role, helping to provide airspace support for some of the world’s largest sporting events, including the famed Preakness Stakes. Rob’s position at the center of counter-drone technology for the FBI has given him an intrinsic understanding of both the solution and the growing threat landscape. We welcome his insights as we work to ensure a safer airspace for all.
