Consumer drones are a common topic in the Counter-UAS Industry.  These low-cost flying platforms have redefined what it means to have air superiority in both homeland and non-permissive or combat environments.

In this article, Dr. Palestini discusses the threat of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), the technological challenges these systems pose to Allies and partner nations, the cost-effectiveness of Counter-UAS solutions, and the considerations for defining rules of engagement.
