Last week, several Ukrainian social media accounts announced the testing of an underwater drone, or uncrewed/unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) by Ukraine.

The UUV is reportedly designed to perform several missions including surveillance, transportation of cargo, ships, coastal fortifications, and bridge supports.

The length of the UUV is listed as six meters with a width of one meter and a range of 1,000 km. The price of the vessel is reported as UAH 16 million, equivalent to around USD 433,000.

As a result of the Russian invasion, Ukraine has been rapidly developing multiple unmanned capabilities, including unmanned surface vessels (USVs), and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The video posted on social media showed the UUV being lowered into the water by a crane. No other information is available at this time regarding its full capabilities, test results, or whether the system has been deployed operationally.
