The United States Air Force (USAF) 335th Fighter Squadron at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base is seeking Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (Counter-UAS) Operations training to prepare and provide a live fly training experience in support of the squadron’s preparation to support OPERATION SPARTAN SHIELD in November of 2023.

The training program aims to equip F-15E aircraft and aircrew with the skills necessary to Find, Fix, Track, Target, Engage, and Assess multiple UAS targets within three days. This is essential because the existing F-15E simulators cannot replicate the specific threat systems used in this live training. Additionally, the training focuses on enabling F-15E aircrew to effectively utilize onboard sensors to detect and track multiple Group 2 and 3 UASs along a single threat axis during Vulnerability and Lethality (VUL) exercises. It emphasizes realistic communication with external agencies to establish the UAS kill chain and provides training for targeting Group 2 and 3 UASs at distances ranging from 30 to 50 nautical miles. Successful completion of the training aims to ensure that each Airman can perform these tasks individually at a basic skill level and as part of an integrated team.
