Ondas Holdings Inc. hat angekündigt, dass seine hundertprozentige Tochtergesellschaft Airobotics GmbH hat die Vermögenswerte von Iron Drone Ltd. erworben. Iron Drone ist ein in Israel ansässiges Unternehmen, das auf die Entwicklung autonomer Drohnenabwehrsysteme spezialisiert ist. Die Übernahme erfolgt mit Wirkung zum 6. März 2023. Das neue System von Iron Drone wird auf dem World Police Summit in Dubai vom 7. bis 9. März vorgestellt. Ondas wird die Drohnenabwehrtechnologie von Iron Drone in seine Geschäftseinheit Ondas Autonomous Systems integrieren.

The companies will now offer customers in smart city, defense, and industrial markets with advanced and integrated security platforms. These platforms will have the ability to intercept hostile drones in various theaters like airports, populated areas, kritische Infrastruktur, and more. The Iron Drohne technology will be available to customers as a standalone technology offering and as an addition to the Optimus System™ Urban Drone Infrastructure.

Technologie zur Abwehr von Drohnenbedrohungen bei gleichzeitiger Minimierung von Kollateralschäden
In den letzten Jahren hat die Nutzung von Drohnen und anderen unbemannten Luftfahrzeugen durch kriminelle und terroristische Organisationen deutlich zugenommen, die versuchen, strategische Einrichtungen wie Flughäfen, Öl- und Gasanlagen, öffentliche Veranstaltungen oder Stadtzentren zu stören. Diese Fahrzeuge sind für feindliche Akteure attraktiv, weil sie leicht zugänglich und einfach zu bedienen sind. Sie können auch für die Sammlung von Informationen, den Schmuggel oder sogar für den Einsatz von Waffen verwendet werden.
Um dieser Bedrohung entgegenzuwirken, wurde das Iron Drone-System entwickelt, um feindliche Drohnen und UAVs abzuwehren und gleichzeitig den Kollateralschaden zu minimieren. Das vollautomatische System nutzt einen Abfangmechanismus, der kleine Drohnen ausschaltet, ohne auf GPS- oder RF-Störungen zurückgreifen zu müssen. Der Abfangjäger wird von einer bestimmten Gondel aus gestartet und bewegt sich auf der Grundlage einer anfänglichen Radarführung selbstständig auf das Ziel zu. Die fortschrittliche KI-Vision wird dann eingesetzt, um das Ziel zu "erfassen". Die Abfangdrohne folgt dem Ziel, schaltet es schließlich aus und fängt es mit Hilfe eines Netzes und eines Fallschirms ein, wodurch es sicher zu Boden gebracht wird. Der gesamte Prozess ist vollautomatisch und erfordert keinen menschlichen Piloten.
