Aloft has announced that new data layers are available in the Air Aware drone pilot airspace intelligence application, including the addition of FAA Recognized Identification Areas (FRIA) data layers.

Adding all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)-mandated B4UFLY data layers is at the core of this update. This encompasses intricate details concerning Military Training Routes and Recreational Fixed Sites, furnishing users with a thorough understanding to navigate the skies with assurance and safety. Like the LAANC data layers. This newly added information is sourced directly from official FAA channels, ensuring its constant currency and accuracy.

Aloft is the first to add FRIA data layers to its maps. This pivotal update encompasses nearly 2,000 FRIAs nationwide, presenting fresh possibilities for pilots in regions where Remote ID is not mandatory. This marks a substantial advancement, offering increased freedom and flexibility in your flight planning. As the FAA continues to approve additional FRIAs, the data will be promptly updated on Air Aware and throughout the Aloft network.
