Aselsan has unveiled a range of electronic warfare and counter-drone systems at the SAHA Expo 2026, highlighting efforts to strengthen Türkiye’s multi-layered “Steel Dome” air defense concept.
The company said several of the systems are moving toward mass production as militaries adapt to an evolving threat environment increasingly shaped by drones and other asymmetric aerial systems.
Among the systems presented was the Koral mobile radar platform, designed to detect and jam enemy aircraft radars at long range while supporting tactical communications. Aselsan also introduced the Ilgar 3-LT electronic warfare system, which is intended to disrupt or deceive radio frequency signals used by adversary systems.
In the directed energy domain, the company showcased the Ejderha 210, an upgraded autonomous system that uses high-power microwave emissions to counter drone swarms. It also displayed the Gokberk 10 laser weapon system, which uses a 10-kilowatt laser for precision engagements, particularly in environments where limiting collateral damage is a priority.
Aselsan additionally presented two kinetic counter-drone solutions. The Gokalp drone is designed to autonomously track and intercept targets by physically colliding with them, while the Migfer system is intended to provide close-range protection for armored vehicles by detecting and engaging incoming first-person view drones.
CEO Ahmet Akyol said the systems are being developed to address a changing threat landscape, while Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler stated that the technologies are expected to be used by the Turkish Armed Forces.
