This decision is part of the agency’s ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and national security in response to the growing threat of unmanned aerial vehicles.
This procurement is a component of a broader initiative aimed at modernizing law enforcement tools and addressing the increasing risks associated with unauthorized drone activities in Australian airspace. The widespread availability of drones and their potential use in surveillance, disruption, and attacks necessitate quick, intelligent, and reliable countermeasures.
DroneShield’s solution suite includes a variety of hand-held, mobile, and expeditionary systems, enabling officers to detect, assess, and neutralize rogue drones efficiently. These technologies are designed for use in various operational settings, such as protecting critical infrastructure, major public events, sensitive facilities, and restricted airspace zones.
At the core of DroneShield’s offerings is an integration of AI-driven radio frequency (RF) sensing, deep-learning-based signal recognition, and non-kinetic countermeasures, designed to be effective and user-friendly.
By partnering with an Australian-owned and operated technology provider, the agency emphasizes the importance of sovereign capability in national security.
