BAE Systems demonstrates BATS counter-drone system in live trials

BAE Systems has completed live trials of its Anti Threat System (BATS) in Scotland, demonstrating an integrated counter-UAS capability against uncrewed aerial threats.

Conducted over two weeks, the trials demonstrated the complete BATS “sense, decide, effect” mission chain through a single command-and-control architecture. The system coordinated multiple sensors and effectors to identify and respond to changing drone threats in real time.

BATS is a software-defined counter-UAS capability that combines sensing, intelligence fusion, command and control, decision support and countermeasures within a modular architecture.

The system is designed to integrate with existing and future BAE Systems and third-party sensors and effectors, allowing different technologies to form a layered counter-drone capability while maintaining human oversight.
