London will host senior military and government officials, law enforcement leaders and industry experts at the Counter-UAS Homeland Security Europe conference, taking place September 29 – 30 at the Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square.
The two-day event, organized by the SAE Media Group, will bring together representatives from the UK Ministry of Defence, the Home Office, NATO, INTERPOL and law enforcement agencies across Europe to discuss the growing challenge posed by UAS to national and public security.
Speakers include Group Captain Phil Hateley from the UK Joint C-UAS Office, Andy Harding of the National Police Chiefs’ Council, Tom Rutherford from the Home Office’s Counter-Drones Unit, and senior officials from INTERPOL, NATO and the German Federal Police. Sessions will cover topics ranging from national strategies to counter illicit drone activity to lessons learned from Ukraine and NATO interoperability exercises.
Industry participation will feature prominently, with companies such as Echodyne, Aaronia, D-Fend Solutions and Sentrycs presenting technology demonstrations and case studies. A panel discussion on protecting airports from drone incursions will also feature representatives from Gatwick Airport, INTERPORTPOLICE and legal and regulatory experts.
Day two will expand the scope to international collaboration, highlighting drone forensics, national security initiatives in Norway and Spain and U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s efforts to counter drones along the southern border.
The conference reflects growing recognition across Europe and NATO that drones pose evolving risks to critical infrastructure, aviation safety and law enforcement operations. The event is expected to act as a platform for strengthening cooperation between government, law enforcement and industry.
