A recurring concern throughout the first day of the Counter UAS Homeland Security Europe Conference was not whether counter-drone technology is advancing, but whether defenders can advance quickly enough to keep pace with the threat.
Across discussions involving government, policing, defense and industry, speakers repeatedly described a widening gap between the speed at which drones and their associated tactics are evolving and the much slower processes used to evaluate, procure and deploy counter-UAS capabilities.
