CENTCOM Colonel discusses the challenge of adapting to the drone threat

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) faces a uniquely complex set of challenges in the drone age. As the operational command responsible for the Middle East and parts of Central Asia, CENTCOM is at the forefront of the Pentagon’s efforts to counter the rapidly evolving threat posed by UAS.

In a recent presentation at the Counter UAS Technology Europe conference, Colonel Nathaniel Huston, Director, Innovation & Capability Integration, CENTCOM, outlined the command’s evolving approach to this problem. His remarks offered insight into how CENTCOM is adapting in real time, leveraging partnerships, testing solutions in theater and working around institutional constraints to support warfighters on the ground.
