D-Fend Solutions launches counter-UAS system for maritime assets

D-Fend Solutions has introduced EnforceAir2 Maritime, a variant of its EnforceAir2 system designed for counter-drone operations in maritime environments. According to D-Fend, the system is intended to address challenges associated with rogue drones near ports, harbors and other critical maritime assets.

The EnforceAir2 Maritime system incorporates several hardware adaptations for maritime conditions. These include a revised software defined radio (SDR) unit with materials tested for durability at sea, a radome antenna with 360-degree azimuth coverage and MIL-STD 810H-rated cradles designed for shipboard and coastal deployments. Additionally, the system uses maritime-grade cables that comply with industry standards for safety and performance.

According to D-Fend Solutions, EnforceAir2 Maritime integrates with existing naval defense systems and is designed to operate without interfering with communication and navigation equipment. The company emphasizes the system’s ability to detect, locate, and take control of unauthorized drones, aiming to enhance security while maintaining operational continuity.

D-Fend Solutions President and Chief Product Officer Yaniv Benbenisti highlighted the importance of counter-drone capabilities in maritime security, citing the system’s adaptability to naval operations and its focus on minimizing disruption while addressing drone threats. The company has positioned EnforceAir2 Maritime as a scalable option for a range of maritime security applications.

“Naval and maritime counter-drone operations bring unique challenges that must be addressed without compromising safety or advanced communications. EnforceAir2 Maritime, developed with insight gained through our deep experience with this sector, achieves this by supporting a scalable and non-disruptive system to detect, locate and take control of rogue drones in maritime environments, ensuring operational continuity and protection for critical naval and maritime assets,” he said.

As security concerns related to unmanned systems continue to grow, the EnforceAir2 Maritime system seeks to offer protection for some of the most valuable assets that face threats from rogue drones.
