The product by the Defense Intelligence Agency features a visual comparison between Iranian missiles and weaponized unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and those exhibited and employed by Houthi forces in Yemen for assaults on civilian infrastructure in the region. The photographs indicate a strong likelihood of the weapons having Iranian origins, considering those displayed and used by both Iran and the Houthis, as well as those illicitly transported by sea from Iran. Iranian support has facilitated the Houthis’ campaign of missile and UAV attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea since November 2023. As of mid-December 2023, major global shipping companies have suspended transit through the Red Sea due to perceived risks.
