DZYNE unveils wearable Dronebuster® counter-drone kit

DZYNE Technologies launched its Dronebuster® Detect, Track, Identify, Mitigate (DTIM) kit at the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) this week. Their compact and lightweight system complements and enhances the Dronebuster® defeat system by incorporating a wearable detection and identification feature while safeguarding agility and mobility in the field.

With modern conflicts increasingly highlighting the need for counter-sUAS (C-sUAS) solutions, the U.S. Army has emphasised an urgent need for wearable soldier-level solutions that enhance situational awareness while also delivering reliable and versatile protection against hostile drones.

DZYNE’s Dronebuster DTIM Kit is the only American-made electronic attack C-sUAS system with an optional Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) capability to counter GNSS-enabled drones. Designed for tactical flexibility and operational adaptability, this lightweight (<4kg), highly maneuverable solution includes a jamming gun, a backpack with an integrated LCD tactical assault display, an antenna, and external connections for mission devices like headsets, therefore providing soldiers with everything they need to detect, track, identify, and mitigate drone threats in real time.

According to Matthew McCue, CEO of DZYNE Technologies, the Dronebuster® DTIM Kit “represents a leap forward in C-sUAS technology”. He continued, “it’s not just a detection system, it’s a full-spectrum solution that empowers operators to neutralize threats in real-time, ensuring battlefield superiority in an era where drones pose an ever-growing risk”.

Combining advanced detection, tracking, identification and mitigation capabilities, the DTIM Kit detects drones up to 7 km away across a broad 400 MHz–6 GHz spectrum. Its omnidirectional antennas enable haptic, aural, and visual feedback during on-the-move operations. Its RF direction-finding technology also delivers precise bearings without requiring full 360° rotation. Data is seamlessly displayed on a TAK device or the built-in LCD, allowing frontline soldiers to quickly assess threats and deploy mitigation measures in dynamic combat scenarios.

With a robust drone library updated quarterly and AI/ML-powered algorithms, the system also intuitively identifies drones without mode switching, keeping soldiers focused on their mission. As for mitigation, the DTIM kit features a PNT Attack mode (spoofing) to counter autonomous drones.

Meeting global C-sUAS demands, from facility and convoy protection to VIP security and critical infrastructure defence, this wearable, operator-level system enhances situational awareness, allowing for rapid and informed tactical decisions in dynamic environments.
