Electro Optic Systems (EOS) has announced an agreement to acquire Europe-based command and control systems provider MARSS Group, strengthening its position in the counter-drone technology market.
The acquisition was disclosed via an ASX statement on January 12, and includes MARSS’ NiDAR C2 technology, sensor fusion and AI software platform, hardware offerings, as well as associated customer contracts, intellectual property, and personnel.
C2 Technology Integration for C-UAS Operations
“MARSS’ proprietary C2 technology, NiDAR, provides advanced AI-enabled decision making and sensor-effector orchestration to rapidly counter asymmetric drone threats,” according to the EOS statement.
EOS emphasized that the integration of MARSS’ technology will transform the company from a component supplier into a fully integrated counter-drone systems provider, combining best-in-class sensors and effectors with advanced AI capabilities.
“By combining its best-in-class effector and sensor capabilities with MARSS’ C2 technology, EOS is transforming from a component supplier to an integrated counter-drone systems provider, with strong software and AI capabilities.
“(Creating) an integrated, end-to-end solution for countering drones. i.e. detect, identify, decide and defeat. Allowing EOS to act as a true counter-drone system provider and to compete for larger, higher-value programs as a prime contractor.
“This includes the delivery and operation of turnkey solutions for the protection of critical infrastructure in the military, homeland security and civil domain, such as airports or power plants.”
Strategic Integration and Market Expansion
Under the agreement, EOS plans to embed the AI-enabled NiDAR technology into its existing remote weapon system product range. This integration is expected to enable mesh networking capabilities, providing hemispherical coverage for vehicle fleets against drone attacks.
The acquisition will also expand EOS’ geographic footprint and broaden its market presence, leveraging MARSS’ established relationships in defense, homeland security, and civil sectors.

This transaction follows the earlier agreement announced on November 19, 2025, under which EOS committed to acquire MARSS Group’s UK-based interceptor business. That deal involved an initial investment of £5.5 million (approximately AUD 10 million) and will transfer ownership of the interceptor system and its engineering team to EOS.
