EOS has disclosed that its Defence Systems division has successfully secured a contract to deliver its globally renowned Slinger counter-drone system to Diehl Defence in Germany. Diehl Defence will integrate these systems onto a lightweight 4×4 platform, enhancing defensive capabilities to safeguard critical assets from drone attacks.

The contract, valued at EUR 9 million (approximately A$15 million), encompasses providing systems, spares, training, and related services. The agreement is anticipated to be delivered in 2024 and adheres to established milestones and customary terms. Export approval from the Australian government is a prerequisite for the contract’s execution. In fulfilling the contract, EOS will leverage a support network and supply chain with over one hundred suppliers across Australia and internationally.

In his comments regarding the sale, Dr. Andreas Schwer, CEO of EOS, highlights the significance of the contract with Diehl Defence as a pivotal milestone in the global success of the Slinger counter-drone system, which was introduced in early 2023. Developed through EOS innovation and featuring proprietary tracking technology, Slinger is continually evolving based on real-world combat experiences and ongoing field lessons. The contract attests to the growing relevance and effectiveness of Slinger in addressing contemporary challenges within the dynamic defense landscape.

The EOS Slinger counter-drone system, designed for tracking and engaging moving drones at a range exceeding 800 meters, is adaptable to various weapon configurations. It features unique ammunition suitable for built-up environments, incorporates a radar system, and integrates EOS’ proprietary stabilization and pointing technology. Developed in Australia for export markets, Slinger addresses contemporary and emerging threats based on insights gained from recent conflicts. EOS’ stabilization and pointing technology, refined over three decades, ensures world-leading accuracy crucial for effective counter-drone applications.
