EOS Defense Systems USA, based in Huntsville, Alabama, participated in the US Army’s Project Convergence Capstone 4 (PC-C4) from March 15 to 20 at the Army’s National Training Center in Fort Irwin, California.
During the event, EOS showcased an R600 Remote Weapon Station mounted on an Army Small Multipurpose Equipment Transport (S-MET) robotic infantry support vehicle. The R600 had a Northrop Grumman M230LF cannon, a coaxial machine gun, and four Javelin missiles. EOS successfully engaged pairs of Class 1 UAVs at distances exceeding 300m and targeted multiple ground assets using the vehicle’s 30mm cannon. This combination of capabilities, including four advanced anti-armor missiles, significantly enhances the firepower available to light forces on a deployable platform. The R600 offers light- and medium-caliber firepower and the added capability of anti-tank or anti-air missiles, addressing a critical requirement for US and allied forces.
The success of this demonstration was also attributed to contributions from various industry partners. The Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) exercise involved engaging Boresight Aerial Targets‘ cost-effective UAVs, providing challenging and realistic target scenarios. The Javelin Joint Venture team provided support for the Javelin missile capability.
The event was pivotal for Army leadership in evaluating new technologies essential for future conflict readiness, influencing acquisition decisions, and force structure planning. With human-machine integration being a strategic focus, the demonstration highlighted the potential of unmanned and remote solutions in enhancing soldier protection. EOS’ precise RWS combined with a versatile robotic vehicle offers a cost-efficient solution addressing key Army priorities in the C-UAS domain and boosting the lethality of light forces.
Under standard conditions, EOS’ Remote Weapon Stations can engage targets effectively up to 800m with a 7.62mm machine gun and extend to 1200m with a 30x113mm cannon.
