Germandrones and its Ukrainian partner, PERUN Precision Works Ukraine, are strengthening their collaboration to enhance support for Ukrainian units.
Over the past twelve months, more than 500 Songbird surveillance drones have been delivered, accompanied by pilot training and ongoing maintenance and service tasks. PERUN provides local delivery, training, and maintenance, and Germandrones engineers and PERUN teams work closely with the Ukrainian armed forces to incorporate operational feedback into technical upgrades.
Both companies are scaling up production, training programs, and local technical support.
Joint development efforts in Germany and Ukraine continue to deliver incremental updates to improve hardware and software performance under frontline conditions, including flight range, communication, and navigation.
In addition to the Songbird project, Germandrones and PERUN are working on the locally produced Phoenix FPV drone, which has passed operational tests with several Ukrainian units.
Active bodies for the Phoenix are provided by Ragnarök LLC, a joint venture between Germandrones and Andrey Lutsky in Ukraine. The joint venture also plans to develop interceptor systems and medium-term equipment for NATO countries.
The Phoenix K1 supports a payload of up to 3.5 kg and an operational range of up to 30 km. Target acquisition and tracking are supported by AI. Production capacity expansion is underway, with facilities planned to produce up to 10,000 Phoenix units per month.
Igor Savuliak, CEO PERUN Precision Works Ukraine, emphasized the importance of the partnership:
“Close integration of production, training and field operations ensures rapid, practical improvements and reliable local sustainment.”
