Group Captain Gary Darby, Head of the UK Joint C-UAS Office (JCO), UK MoD, recently spoke at Counter UAS Homeland Security Europe 2024, where he offered an overview of the current C-UAS strategy employed by the UK MoD with relation to military and peacetime operations.
C-UAS Hub caught up with Group Captain Darby following his session to hear about the important work he is doing with the UK JCO and the importance of both the Homeland Security conference and the upcoming Counter UAS Middle East and Africa conference, which will take place July 2025.
Group Captain Darby discussed the structure and outputs of the UK JCO, before diving into the UK’s concerns over UAS threats to homeland bases and the efforts to balance expeditionary operations against homeland security protection.
Finally, Darby touches on the importance of the Middle East and Africa conference, which will bring together government and military officials, industry leaders and technology innovators to discuss key topics relevant to the counter-UAS landscape in the Middle East and Africa.
