IAI Counter UAS

IAI unveils next-generation multi-layered defence system to counter UAS threats

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has introduced its latest counter-unmanned aerial systems solution at the AUSA 2025 Annual Meeting. This advanced system is engineered to detect, identify, disrupt, and intercept drone swarms, addressing the evolving operational demands of modern warfare.

The unveiling follows a series of successful demonstrations to senior officials from the Israeli Ministry of Defence. These trials highlighted the system’s readiness and effectiveness, particularly in light of recent conflicts that have reshaped Israel’s defence priorities.

Boaz Levy, President and CEO of IAI, commented:  “As Israel’s radar systems house, IAI, plays a critical role in the nation’s defence, especially since the onset of the current war where they successfully detected, classified and guided the interception of threats targeting Israel. The new generation counter swarms solution is another testament to IAI’s commitment to providing innovative, up-to-date and operationally relevant solutions to the evolving challenges faced by Israel’s defence forces.”He continued, “As part of our comprehensive suite of detection and interception systems, the new generation development represents a significant leap forward, enhancing Israel’s ability to defend against a broad spectrum of aerial threats with precision, speed and adaptability. This is the kind of high-impact, high-quality capability that reflects IAI’s legacy of excellence and its role at the forefront of defence technology.”

At the heart of the new C-UAS system lies an autonomous command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence (C4I) mission platform. This core integrates proprietary algorithms with artificial intelligence and machine learning to deliver real-time threat detection, analysis, and response coordination. Operators receive intelligent recommendations for optimal interception strategies, enabling swift and precise neutralisation of aerial threats. The system also supports autonomous engagement while maintaining human oversight in critical decision-making.

Designed for deployment across extensive operational zones, the system incorporates a range of sensors including radar and electro-optical technologies. Its modular architecture allows for flexible configuration with various interceptors, ensuring adaptability to diverse threat scenarios.

The development of this solution reflects IAI’s broader commitment to enhancing Israel’s aerial defence capabilities. It builds on the company’s legacy of delivering high-impact technologies that combine precision, speed, and resilience. The system’s introduction marks a significant advancement in safeguarding against a wide spectrum of unmanned threats.
