Invariant Corporation has secured a $35.5 million Ground Launched Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS) Modular System Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) from Naval Energetic Systems and Technologies (NEST) in support of the U.S. Navy.

NEST, in collaboration with the National Armaments Consortium (NAC), is a nationwide initiative aiding the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD) in addressing significant challenges related to energetics and explosive ordnance disposal for the Navy, Marine Corps, Department of Defense, and the Nation.

The contemporary battlefield sees an escalating and asymmetrical threat from Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). Invariant’s Surface to Air Kinetic Engagement (STAKE) Counter UAS (C-UAS) solution aims to provide a cost-effective, portable product for easy deployment. Through the NEST OTA, Invariant will design and develop the STAKE solution, empowering soldiers to detect and neutralize UAS threats effectively.

Invariant recently expanded its corporate headquarters to include a new facility with state-of-the-art electronics and optics labs. Invariant President David Anderson stated, “The addition of our new space allows our team to expand our capabilities and support more missions that are critical to the Department of Defense (DoD). We’re looking forward to our partnership with NEST to develop and equip our Nation with the most technologically advanced solutions.” (Press Release)
