Maris-Tech unveils situational awareness platform with AI classification

Maris-Tech has introduced the Uranus Ultra, a new situational awareness platform that provides 360° 3D video coverage for armored fighting vehicles (AFVs). Designed for mission-critical defense operations, the system offers an integrated solution for detecting and countering both ground-based and airborne threats, including UAS.

A significant feature of Uranus Ultra is its focus on overhead and airborne threats. By combining ground and skyward-facing threat detection technologies, the system enhances situational awareness for armoured vehicles.

The system incorporates ultra-high-resolution video up to 8K and low-latency processing, supported by dual Hailo-8 AI accelerators delivering 60 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second). These AI-powered capabilities enable rapid detection and classification of UAS threats, providing actionable intelligence in real time.

Key features include:

  • Comprehensive threat detection: Integrates technologies to detect and classify ground and aerial threats.
  • Edge computing: On-site analysis reduces reliance on data transmission, enabling faster response times.
  • Scalability and flexibility: Modular design and open architecture allow integration with existing vehicle systems and future upgrades to counter evolving drone technologies.
  • Durability: Built to withstand extreme environments and electromagnetic interference, ensuring consistent performance in combat scenarios.

The Uranus Ultra also enhances long-term operational effectiveness by recording events for post-mission analysis, a feature particularly valuable for analyzing drone-related incidents and improving counter-UAS strategies.

“Uranus Ultra represents a paradigm shift in situational awareness technology. By enabling networked intelligence across multiple units, we’re not just enhancing individual vehicle capabilities but also transforming battlefield management strategies,” said Israel Bar, CEO and Founder of Maris-Tech. “Our ongoing AI algorithm development continues to refine threat scenario responses, positioning Uranus Ultra as a cornerstone of next-generation defense technology.”

The system’s ability to streamline advanced detection and analysis capabilities provides critical support for operators, enabling informed decision-making and facilitating effective countermeasures.
