Moog and Echodyne partner on integrated radar and weapon systems

Moog Inc. and radar specialist Echodyne have announced a collaboration aimed at advancing integrated hardware and software solutions for defense applications, combining Moog’s weapon system expertise with Echodyne’s radar technologies.

The agreement brings together Moog, a US-based designer and manufacturer of motion control and weapon systems, and Echodyne, which develops radar platforms based on its MESA technology. The companies said the collaboration is intended to accelerate development and demonstration efforts across a range of defense use cases.

According to the companies, the partnership will focus on expanding capabilities in integrated air and missile defense, airfield safety systems and combat vehicle platforms. By aligning radar sensing with weapon system integration, the effort is intended to support the delivery of mission-ready and configurable systems for global defense customers.

“Moog recognizes the value of our MESA radars’ unique high-fidelity data for effective counter-drone and low altitude air defense,” said Eben Frankenberg, CEO of Echodyne. “We are excited by the opportunity to collaborate with an industry leader such as Moog.”

Moog said the agreement allows both companies to move more quickly in developing and demonstrating integrated solutions than they could independently.

“We see incredible opportunity combining Moog’s weapon systems expertise with Echodyne’s advanced radar systems,” said Mike Gruver, Moog Defense Senior Vice President. “This relationship allows us to move faster than we could independently.”

The collaboration will include joint work on testing and experimentation, product development, demonstrations and new business opportunities. The companies said these efforts are intended to address evolving defense requirements, including counter-drone and low-altitude air defense missions, where sensor integration and rapid response are increasingly important.
