Motorola Solutions has completed its acquisition of counter-drone technology company D-Fend Solutions for $1.5 billion, bringing D-Fend’s counter-unmanned aerial systems technology into Motorola Solutions’ portfolio.
The deal gives Motorola Solutions access to D-Fend’s technology for detecting and mitigating unauthorized drones. D-Fend’s systems are designed to take control of rogue drones through radio-frequency cyber technology and direct them to designated landing areas rather than relying solely on jamming or kinetic methods.
