Counter-drone technology company MyDefence has opened a new research and development (R&D) office in Oklahoma, strengthening the state’s growing role as a hub for advanced defence technology. The move is part of a strategic effort to enhance technological solutions aimed at addressing national security challenges and protecting critical infrastructure, while also gaining access to U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) projects.
The new office, established in collaboration with the Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce and its Department for Aerospace and Defense, places MyDefence at the centre of the state’s C-UAS Centre of Excellence. Oklahoma has rapidly positioned itself as a key player in the C-UAS sector, leveraging resources across academia, industry and federal agencies to drive technological innovation in this field.
MyDefence has already built a strong reputation in the C-UAS market as a provider of wearable and integrated solutions to protect personnel, vehicles and critical assets from drone threats. Earlier this year, MyDefence products were selected as part of a historic procurement agreement between COBBS BELUX and the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA). MyDefence also recently announced its ‘Spectrum Warrior’ AI-driven C-UAS technology.
The new office will allow MyDefence to tap into Oklahoma’s expertise in C-UAS technology, enhancing its US operations and fostering collaboration with the American defence industry.
According to Jan Dorn Johansson, Chief Technology Officer at MyDefence:

The official opening of the R&D office was attended by H.R.H. Prince Joachim, Defence Industry Attaché in Washington D.C., as well as Denmark’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Troels Lund Poulsen. MyDefence plans to expand its U.S. operations further, hiring more staff in the coming years to contribute to C-UAS technology innovation in the States.
