MyDefence unveils WideBand Antenna based on lessons from Ukraine

Danish company MyDefence has introduced a new WideBand eXtended Frequency (XF) Antenna, designed to help military and security forces detect drones operating outside traditional frequency ranges.

The system expands detection coverage from 200 MHz to 6 GHz, reflecting operational lessons drawn from Ukraine, where more than 2,000 of MyDefence’s Wingman wearable drone detectors are already in use.

Ukrainian troops and other frontline forces have reported that adversaries are increasingly exploiting non-traditional frequencies, shifting to lower bands to avoid detection and using higher ranges for video and control links.

The WideBand XF Antenna is compatible with the Wingman system and integrates with the Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK), providing operators with real-time alerts and a live tactical picture. It can also function as a spectrum analyzer, allowing users to visualize and track wireless signals across a broad range of frequencies.

According to MyDefence, the antenna has been ruggedized for field deployment and is intended for use by dismounted soldiers, counter-terrorism units, border security personnel and police forces.

The company said the launch builds on direct feedback from troops using its systems in conflict zones, highlighting the growing importance of wide-spectrum coverage as drones become a fixture of both modern warfare and homeland security threats.
