OpenWorks Engineering, a company specialising in surveillance and counter-threat technologies, is set to showcase its latest innovations at the DVD2024 exhibition. OpenWorks has worked to develop solutions for C-UAS and defence, and will demonstrate its integration capabilities at the exhibition. Collaboration with Saab UK has enabled system integration for two of its key products, Vision Guard and Vision Flex, on a rapidly deployable command vehicle for field operations.
Vision Guard and Vision Flex are designed to offer real-time target tracking and autonomous surveillance. These systems provide enhanced target classification using multi-sensor functionality, which enables operators to manage threats more effectively in complex environments.
Additionally, OpenWorks’ Vision Pace optical targeting system will be on display at the MSI stand, integrated with a 30mm cannon system. This setup will demonstrate the efforts by OpenWorks to enhance precision for the 30mm kinetic effector, and to improve situational awareness and response in critical C-UAS operations.
The growing use of drones in both civilian and military operations has introduced new security challenges, particularly in areas like critical infrastructure, public events and military zones. The rise of small, affordable drones has made it easier for adversaries to conduct surveillance, disrupt operations or even carry out attacks.
C-UAS solutions that enhance precision and improve the odds of downing hostile drones are becoming increasingly important as drone usage continues to expand, often outpacing the development of traditional air defence systems.
OpenWorks also offers handheld and automated drone capture systems with its SkyWall product line, offering a practical approach to mitigating aerial threats in sensitive areas.
