P3 Tech Consulting LLC has again joined forces with the Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) to present its highly acclaimed Law-Tech Connect™ at XPONENTIAL this year. This co-located event offers a one-day immersive educational experience centered around uncrewed systems, autonomy, advanced air mobility, and pertinent legal topics. Scheduled for Monday, April 22, the event will be held at the San Diego Convention Center.
Dawn Zoldi, a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel, spearheads the event. With a distinguished career spanning 28 years of combined active duty and federal civil service in the Air Force as a Judge Advocate (military lawyer), Associate General Counsel, and U.S. Air Force Academy leader, she founded P3 Tech. Zoldi, a licensed attorney, certified drone pilot, and globally recognized industry expert, serves as the company’s CEO. Leveraging her military expertise and corporate acumen, she generates valuable industry content, ranging from articles for major publications to hosting successful podcasts like the popular weekly Dawn of Autonomy podcast on AUVSI channels (https://www.auvsi.org/tags/dawn-autonomy). Law-Tech Connect stands as her premier educational initiative. Since its inception in Orlando in 2022, the event has experienced remarkable growth. Last year’s Denver gathering drew a standing-room-only crowd, underscoring its popularity and significance within the industry.
2024 Law-Tech Connect Event
The agenda for this year’s event encompasses a wide spectrum of topics, ranging from global and state-level drone regulations to air taxi standards, space and spectrum considerations, ground and maritime autonomous systems frameworks, and discussions on artificial intelligence and airspace awareness.
An unparalleled speaker lineup of commercial, government, and academic experts will speak to these topics. Industry icons, such as Tom Adams (Highpoint Aerotechnologies and C-UAS Hub co-founder), Erin Roessler (Deputy Executive Director for the Northern Plains UAS Test Site), Jerry Hancock (Director of Aviation Safety Solutions and Cybersecurity at Viasat), Lori DeMatteis (CRO of MatrixSpace), and more will discuss today’s hottest techno-legal issues, side-by-side with the top legal minds: Jennifer Richter (Akin Gump), Lisa Ellman (Hogan Lovells), Josh Turner (Wiley Rein) and Tracy L. Reynolds (CDR, USN, U.S. Navy Judge Advocate), to name just a few.
Law-Tech Connect’s tagline, “CLE for Attorneys; Education for Everyone,” reflects its mission to cater to a diverse audience. While Zoldi has sought accreditation from the California Bar to provide attorney attendees with Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits (anticipated 8 California CLE credits, self-certifiable and transferable to other jurisdictions), the content is curated to benefit a wide range of individuals. From uncrewed ecosystem industry leaders and operators to program managers, attorneys, academia, students, government agencies, and nonprofits, all stand to gain valuable insights from the top-tier knowledge offered at the event.
The 2024 event is sponsored by Premium Partners Akin (Gold), Viasat (Silver), and numerous Friends of Law-Tech Connect. Carahsoft, MatrixSpace, the NPUASTS, and PromoDrone are sponsoring Scholars Programs to support participation from diverse academic faculty, students, and industry leaders. Scholarship applications are available through the P3 Tech website and Law-Tech Connect page.
The low-price registration fee covers the 8-hour program (which includes two meals), a 3-day XPO Hall pass (alone $100+ value), and a pre-event networking social event on Sunday, April 21st. Attorneys will also receive proof of attendance. Early bird rates ($249) are available through March 8th. Add-ons include the AUVSI VIP Influencer Reception, which follows the event on Monday evening, and the ability to purchase USI’s drone law textbook authored by Zoldi at cost with a special promotional code.
