PureTech Systems integrates PureActiv with Echodyne’s EchoShield

PureTech Systems Inc., a leading provider of geospatial AI-enhanced video analytics for border and wide-area perimeter security, announced this Wednesday 5 February, the integration of its patented PureActiv® software with Echodyne’s EchoShield radar. This collaboration strengthens counter-drone detection and tracking capabilities, reinforcing security for critical infrastructure and perimeter protection.

This strategic partnership enhances security automation and precision monitoring by delivering advanced detection, classification, and situational awareness of aerial threats, such as drones.

Larry Bowe, President of PureTech Systems Inc. commented, “PureTech Systems is dedicated to staying at the forefront of innovation to address emerging security challenges”. He continued, “our integration with the EchoShield radar sets a new benchmark for counter-drone solutions, enabling our customers to detect and monitor aerial activity with greater accuracy and reliability.”

The integration of PureActiv® software with the EchoShield radar offers significant advantages for border security and various critical infrastructure sectors, including:

  • Energy sector assets: Power plants, electrical grids, and oil and gas facilities gain enhanced perimeter security and protection against aerial threats.
  • Transportation infrastructure: Airports, seaports, railways, and major highways benefit from improved surveillance and threat detection.
  • Water systems: Dams, water treatment facilities, and distribution networks receive stronger security against potential cyber-physical threats.
  • Defence industrial base: Military installations and defence research, development, and production facilities are better protected from both aerial and ground-based threats.
  • Emergency services: Law enforcement, fire and rescue, and emergency medical command centres benefit from greater situational awareness and threat detection.
  • Correctional facilities: The system aids in detecting and preventing contraband delivery via drones.

Not only does this partnership deliver a multi-layered security solution by integrating radar detection, real-time tracking, and visual verification through PureTech’s advanced camera and sensor fusion software, it is also key in enhancing the protection of military bases, critical infrastructures, airports other high-security locations vulnerable to drone threats.

According to Todd Fraser, Chief Commercial Officer, Echodyne, “PureTech has a proven track record for integrating sensors and software to offer unique solutions for target market needs.” He also stated, “we’re excited that PureTech has completed their integration of the EchoShield radar into their platform to enhance its counter-drone and drone threat detection capabilities. We believe the enhanced capabilities that EchoShield provides will be well received by PureTech’s customers.”Puret

With its ability to detect and track small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) over long distances while reducing false alarms, the system is particularly well-suited for safeguarding large-scale, high-value assets that may be targeted by malicious actors.

PureTech Systems remains at the forefront of the industry by integrating proven technologies to meet the demands of an evolving security landscape. This latest collaboration enables organisations to effectively monitor and safeguard their assets against the increasing threat of drone activity.
