Raytheon, a business under RTX, has secured a $1.2 billion contract to supply Germany with Patriot® air and missile defense systems. These systems will enhance Germany’s air defense infrastructure by integrating additional Patriot equipment.

The contract encompasses the latest Patriot Configuration 3+ radars, launchers, command and control stations, and associated spares and support.

Patriot is the cornerstone of air defense for 19 nations, including Germany, the U.S., and Ukraine. Its formidable and battle-tested performance remains unrivaled, consistently proving its efficacy against the most sophisticated and multifaceted threats.

“This contract reflects the global emphasis on advanced air and missile defense capabilities and the steadfast confidence in Patriot,” said Tom Laliberty, president of Land and Air Defense Systems at Raytheon. With this expansion, Germany will not only modernize its own significant air defense but enhance its interoperability with allies and further strengthen a core NATO mission.

Patriot is a combat-proven ground-based air and missile defense system globally capable of neutralizing advanced long-range cruise missiles, tactical ballistic missiles, and a comprehensive range of air-breathing threats. Through ongoing investments from all Patriot partner nations, the technology undergoes continuous refreshing, rigorous testing, and enhancements to ensure its effectiveness remains at the forefront.
