Rohde & Schwarz has announced the launch of ARDRONIS Detect, the base component of its portfolio of C-UAS solutions, aimed at enhancing detection and identification of various drone types. The announcement was made via an October 30 press release, as the company seeks to expand its system offerings to be more flexible and accessible.

ARDRONIS Detect forms the base component of the broader ARDRONIS system, which includes capabilities for detection, localisation and identification of drones using a variety of signal types, such as frequency-hopping spread spectrum, analogue and digital video signals. The ARDRONIS system is designed to operate through a control centre software offering users an interface to monitor, scan and manage drone detection and response.

Head of Product Management SPM/C-UAS at Rohde & Schwarz, Jens Steinwandt, expressed optimism about the potential applications of ARDRONIS Detect, stating:

“We are excited to launch ARDRONIS Detect, a game-changing counter-drone solution that offers advanced detection and identification capabilities. It is highly versatile and can be deployed in various settings, including fixed, semi-mobile and mobile configurations.”

The Detect system completes the existing suite of ARDRONIS C-UAS tools, following the launch of ARDRONIS Locate in 2023. The Locate system, designed to detect drones via broadband signal analysis, was demonstrated at NATO’s TIE exercise last year.

The ARDRONIS Detect system is designed for easy integration into existing command and control infrastructure, making it suitable for diverse applications in defence, security and the protection of critical infrastructure.
