Sentrycs wins Army Technology Innovation Award for counter-drone system

Counter-drone technology provider Sentrycs has been named a winner in the 2025 Army Technology Excellence Awards, receiving recognition in the Innovation category for its work in the counter-UAS field.

The annual awards, organized by GlobalData, highlight companies identified through analysis of large-scale datasets on innovation, R&D, product launches and business growth across the defense sector.

Sentrycs’ award focused on its Cyber over RF (CoRF) system, which uses protocol-level analysis of radio frequencies to detect, identify and mitigate drones. The company says the system can provide security operators with data including drone serial numbers, flight characteristics and the location of operators, supporting more rapid responses to unauthorized drone activity.

The CoRF approach is designed for use in both fixed-site and mobile deployments, with a single sensor able to monitor a 10-kilometer diameter. Sentrycs also promotes compatibility with other established counter-drone platforms, such as Rafael’s Drone Dome and Leonardo’s Falcon Shield.

The company has positioned its technology for use by military forces, homeland security agencies, border protection units and operators of critical infrastructure. Its Horizon engine, which applies AI to the RF environment, is intended to track both commercially available drones and custom-built systems operating on non-standard frequencies.

GlobalData described this year’s winners as setting benchmarks in defense innovation across more than 200 countries.
