SMARTSHOOTER secures $13M U.S. Army contract for SMASH 2000L fire control systems

Israeli defense company SMARTSHOOTER has landed a $13 million contract from the US Army for its SMASH 2000L fire control systems.

The SMASH 2000L systems will be integrated into the Army’s Transformation In Contact (TIC2.0) forces, which are tasked with testing and fielding advanced technologies.

“We are honored by the U.S. Army’s continued confidence in our SMASH technology. With SMASH 2000L, dismounted soldiers are empowered with advanced fire control capabilities, ensuring precision in every shot — even in the most complex and high-pressure scenarios,” said CEO Michal Mor. “The current contract is a significant step toward Army-wide fielding, and we are committed to supporting this important initiative.”

The SMASH 2000L, also known as SMASH 3000, is SMARTSHOOTER’s lightest handheld-operated system. It mounts on a standard rifle and employs artificial intelligence, computer vision, and advanced tracking to help soldiers detect and eliminate aerial and ground targets with high precision, particularly drones and small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS).

The system has already been operational across several U.S. military branches and was combat-proven by the Israeli Defense Forces during the Swords of Iron war. Its effectiveness in the field has led to increasing adoption by NATO forces and US units alike.

Earlier this year, SMARTSHOOTER, in collaboration with IEA MIL-OPTICS GmbH, secured a significant contract with the German Ministry of Defense for the SMASH X4 fire control system. The framework agreement includes the production and delivery of up to 500 SMASH target assistance systems from 2024 to 2027, enhancing Germany’s capabilities against Class 1 UAS threats.
