The work needed to protect U.S. infrastructure from drone attacks

Last month, DJ Smith, Unmanned Aerial & C-UAS systems Program Coordinator with the Virginia State Police, chaired a panel discussion at the Counter-UAS Technology USA conference. The discussion focused on protecting against illicit drone activity in the U.S., at a time when information was still surfacing around the now widely reported drone sightings over New Jersey.

Smith shared his views on the work needed to protect critical infrastructure against UAS threats, emphasizing the pressing need for legislative changes, technological advancements and increased collaboration between federal, state and local agencies to address these growing threats effectively.
