A man and a woman from Ontario face charges related to a drug trafficking investigation in Renous, New Brunswick, Canada. On November 11, 2023, around 9 p.m., the Blackville RCMP responded to a report from a Renous correctional facility indicating an attempt to deliver drugs via a drone. A subsequent report from a facility employee who spotted the drone on a security camera prompted police action.
At approximately 9:45 p.m., law enforcement intercepted a suspicious vehicle near the correctional facility, leading to the arrest of both occupants. Following the arrests, a search of the vehicle yielded a drone controller and various electronic devices. The seized drone, which had crashed on the correctional facility’s property, was found with a package containing suspected methamphetamine, cannabis, and other illicit drugs attached to it.
On November 14, 23-year-old Tay-Shan Stevenson and 29-year-old Marisa Linscott-Wiltshire, both from Ontario, appeared in Miramichi Provincial Court and were jointly charged with:
- Obstructing a peace officer
- Unlawful distribution of illicit cannabis
- Unlawful trafficking of methamphetamine
