The United States Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM), based at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, anticipates a requirement to provide a Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) turreted gun-based capability. This announcement aims to assess the interest, capabilities, and qualifications of potential businesses to compete and execute a hybrid contract involving fixed-price and cost-reimbursable requirements. The initiative aligns with the Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 10 Market Research requirement.

The contractor must be able to design, document, manufacture, and integrate a C-UAS gun-based solution. Key requirements include the system’s capacity to engage and destroy Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) using a cannon with rapid fire and automatic aiming controlled by an operator. The system should be mobile (vehicle-mounted), equipped with a command and control system displaying air tracks and passing tracks to the gun system. Other essential features involve an active radar, Electro-Optical and InfraRed (EO/IR) detection, raising the sensor and communication suite above a 10-meter tree line, and incorporating a radio mesh net for communication purposes.

The government seeks information on a system to counter Group 3 UAS within the 20-600kg gross takeoff weight range. The requested details include specifications for ammunition and gun caliber, turret features (SWaP-C, slew rate, stability, etc.), interfaces between system components, external tracking capability, radar model specifications (SWaP-C, detection range, false alarm rate, etc.), on-the-move capability, EO/IR camera details, emplacement/displacement time, engagement rounds, integration platform, logistics concepts, and proposed data rights assertions. The aim is to gather comprehensive information on the system’s technical aspects and operational capabilities.
