Air Defense includes defensive measures designed to destroy attacking aircraft and aerodynamic missiles or to nullify or reduce the effectiveness of such attack. It includes the use of aircraft, SAMs, antiaircraft artillery, electromagnetic warfare (EW) (including directed energy), multiple sensors, and other available weapons or capabilities.
