Summary:
Advanced Technologies Systems Company (ATSC) has a high-visibility opportunity for a process-driven Controller reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. ATSC’s primary product lines include Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), Command and Control Systems (C2) and Counter – Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing the accounting team.
- Leading month-end as well as year-end close activities, including revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606; and oversight of financial reporting and the financial accounting department.
- Manage corporate accounting operations to include General Ledger, Billing, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Accounts Payable.
- Present monthly P&L to senior management and owners, and update P&L forecast.
- Maintain 13-week cash flow forecast.
- Provide support for the annual financial statement audit and preparation of annual corporate tax returns.
- Prepare the annual provisional billing rate submission.
- Prepare the annual ICS.
- Establish and maintain a strong internal control environment to ensure continuous compliance with applicable policies and procedures, Federal regulations, and contractual requirements.
- Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
- Manage accounting staff, including managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
- Review and approve purchases per authority matrix.
- Periodically provide a program analysis to senior leadership to include EAC Execution vs. Budget variance analysis, profit analysis; make recommendations to meet company financial objectives.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience in federal government contracting.
- Must have experience as a Controller for a government contractor with approximately $50M in annual revenue.
- Experience with Government Contracting Finance to include: All Contract types (CP, T&M, and FFP), EACs, Proposal Pricing, and Contract Modifications.
- Must have extensive experience with Deltek Costpoint ERP system.
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP, CAS and FAR.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a US government security clearance.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Must be able to adapt to a dynamic and growth-oriented culture and work well in a team environment.
- Public accounting experience a plus.
- CPA certificate is a plus.
- Manufacturing experience is a plus.
