DroneOptID software utilizes advanced Computer Vision technology to detect, identify, and track unmanned aerial system (UAS) targets in real-time. The AI model, specifically developed for UAS detection, integrates seamlessly with DroneShield’s leading UAS detection and countermeasure devices.

The software accurately validates UAS threats by incorporating geospatial and environmental data from other sensors. Upon detecting a potential drone, the camera automatically focuses on it, leveraging DroneShield’s DroneOptID machine learning (ML) algorithms for precise target tracking and threat identification.

DroneOptID enhances tracking accuracy for both manual and autonomous identification of UAS threats. It assists operators in evaluating drone characteristics such as payload, modifications, and the effectiveness of countermeasures, ensuring an appropriate response to each threat.

The advantages of DroneOptID include:

  • Sensor Fusion– Utilizes detection data from DroneShield or third-party radar and radio frequency (RF) detectors to accurately locate the target.
  • Additional Data– Enhances the camera’s ability to provide accurate visual displays of moving targets, including payload, which is not always detectable by other sensors.
  • Flight Prediction– Uses a proprietary flight prediction algorithm to assist tracking even when the target is inhibited from view.
  • Computer Vision Technology– DroneShield employs the latest computer vision technology to classify, localize, and segment images.
  • Confirmation– Allows operators to confirm if active countermeasures (electronic or kinetic) have effectively mitigated the UAS threat.
