Small UAVs pose an increasing threat in the theatre; With a small signature and high manoeuvrability, they can catch troops by surprise. Dedicated radar technology is needed to engage traditional ground, surface and air threats such as persons, vehicles, ATGM, TASMs, pop-up helicopters, ground attack aircraft, rubber dinghies and jet skis as well as the new, small and nano UAV threats and loitering ammunition.
HENSOLDT’s Spexer 2000 3D MKIII has been designed to provide detection data and target classification in time to counter these threats during on-the-move or stationary operation. It is a reliable radar solution for a variety of applications: Originally developed for battlefield surveillance and artillery support, it has evolved to an on-the-move solution for land as well as maritime deployments in border protection, C-UAS and ground-based air defence.
The Spexer 2000 3D MKIII X-band pulse Doppler radar offers superior subclutter visibility. Equipped with spectral-based, automatic target classification, it discriminates among multiple classes of targets. Whether the target is hovering or travelling at velocities of up to Mach 6, this radar solution supports the required level of defence.
