AXISCADES Technologies Limited has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) con Cilas S.A., a French specialist in laser technologies for critical applications. The collaboration aims to introduce advanced counter-UAS capabilities to the Indian Armed Forces.
Central to this partnership is the deployment of Cilas’ high-energy laser weapon system, Helma-P, through a strong cooperative framework. Under the MoU, AXISCADES will design a customised system architecture to meet the Indian Army’s operational requirements. The joint effort will focus on co-developing and integrating a vehicle-mounted C-UAS solution, combining AXISCADES’ sophisticated command-and-control system with the Helma-P laser.
Dr. Sampath Ravinarayanan, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of AXISCADES, stated: “Cilas’ Helma-P is recognised globally as one of the foremost hard-kill options, having successfully deployed in vital operations for NATO, during the Olympic games in Paris, and the French Navy. We are confident that such a proven, state-of-the-art solution is crucial for strengthening India’s defence capabilities” He continued, “in alignment with the Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliance) initiative, we are committed to locally integrate the Cilas Helma-P solution in our indigenous C2 and onto an Indian platform. AXISCADES is also committed to localise the necessary maintenance equipment and take part into the manufacturing of Helma-P, in order to ensure its production and sustainability within India.”
Echoing this sentiment, Mr. Oliver Prat, CEO of Cilas, commented:
“AXISCADES’ expertise in engineering is well-known in the French defence ecosystem, and they have been among the precursors in India to enter anti-drone warfare, with impressive orders from Army. Thus, it is with great pleasure that Cilas is teaming up with AXISCADES to explore how to serve the dynamic Indian market. Aware of the importance of self-reliance, Cilas will redeem the trust of Indian Army by entering a strong and long-lasting collaboration with its partner. Let’s make it!”
This agreement marks a significant milestone in strengthening defence cooperation between India and France. It reflects both companies’ shared commitment to delivering world-class security solutions and supporting the modernisation of India’s defence forces.
