UK-based DJ Byers Security Solutions has announced a significant upgrade to its mobile intelligent surveillance system, PRESIDIAN, incorporating advanced display software and sensor integration from Cambridge Pixel. The enhancements are set to bolster the system’s capabilities in detecting and tracking targets, including drones and ground-based threats, with unprecedented precision.

The PRESIDIAN system, known for its mobility and versatility on platforms like Land Rovers, now features advanced sensor technology such as Echodyne’s EchoShield cognitive 4D radar and OpenWorks’ Vision Flex camera. These components are integrated through Cambridge Pixel’s upgraded VSD-C2 Advanced software, which aims to enable a seamless and intuitive operator experience.

The VSD-C2 Advanced system, powered by Cambridge Pixel’s SPx Track Manager software module, supports a broad range of sensors, enabling the PRESIDIAN to filter, track and display target data effectively. This upgrade also paves the way for future expansions, such as integrating additional effectors like jammers or exporting open standards track data for compatibility with third-party systems.

“VSD-C2 Advanced was the ideal solution for DJ Byers, providing them with the flexibility to select the most advanced sensors and display data in a highly customized format,” said Andrew Haylett, Principal Engineer at Cambridge Pixel. “The result is a solution that offers exceptional surveillance capabilities.”

Patrick Byers, Technical Director at DJ Byers Security Solutions, highlighted the collaboration’s impact:

“By selecting Cambridge Pixel to support this upgrade to our fully mobile surveillance system, we’ve been able to adapt our specifications to take advantage of cutting-edge technology and ensure PRESIDIAN provides the advanced capabilities our customers demand. They have been instrumental in the highly successful delivery of this project.”
