MiDefensa, a Danish counter-drone technology provider founded in 2013, has introduced its new ‘Spectrum Warrior’ AI-powered counter-UAS solution.
Spectrum Warrior is the latest upgrade of the company’s existing ‘Wingman’ drone detection units, of which over 2000 are currently deployed globally in high-risk areas, including in Ukraine. The upgraded system offers AI-enhanced frequency surveillance for detecting drones across a wide range of radio frequencies, capturing critical signals and integrating with the Android Tactical Awareness Kit (ATAK) and similar systems for improved threat detection, situational awareness, and battlefield coordination.
According to MyDefence, Spectrum Warrior is designed for soldiers in high-threat environments to enhance detection, response times, and unit collaboration. The company plans to continuously develop the system, with multiple releases per year, to follow the constantly evolving threat landscape and ensure that the user is one step ahead of emerging challenges.
The company states that the development of Spectrum Warrior has stemmed from a close partnership with soldiers operating in conflict zones, allowing for the refinement of the technology based on real-world challenges and experiences faced by troops in the field.
Dan Hermansen, CEO of MiDefensa, highlighted the significance of this relationship:
“Our mission is to protect lives and critical infrastructure. By working closely with soldiers, we have been able to refine our solutions to address the complex realities of modern warfare. Spectrum Warrior is a reflection of that mission and the collaboration with those on the frontlines.”
The first Wingman upgrade with the new Spectrum Warrior AI-driven features is now available, with MyDefence expecting the system to be deployed in the near future.
