BlueHalo announces participation in U.S. CENTCOM’s recent Desert Guardian 1.0 exercise

BlueHalo has announced in a press release on January 9, 2025 its recent participation in Desert Guardian 1.0, an integrated counter-drone sensor demonstration hosted by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) at Fort Drum, New York.

The exercise, which took place from late September to early October 2024 featured “over a dozen new and legacy sensors all plugging in to a third-party interface to see if we can increase capability while decreasing complexity and confusion,” according to Colonel Nate Huston, Director of Innovation and Capability Integration at CENTCOM.

During the demonstration, BlueHalo highlighted its integrated C-UAS sensors, which are tracked and integrated through VigilantHalo, a software-driven platform for real-time airspace Command-and-Control (C2). VigilantHalo aggregates data from multiple sensors and systems, filters, analyzes, and displays them on a single interface to enhance airspace awareness, track beyond visual line-of-sight (BVLOS) UAS and air threats, reduce cognitive workloads, improve decision-making, and shorten response times. This versatile C2 system supports various missions, including air traffic control (ATC) and C-UAS for military, federal, state, municipal, and commercial applications.

The company also showcased several other C-UAS systems during the exercise, including the Titan-SV y Titan platforms, which offer radio-frequency detection and precision tracking, and the LOCUST Directed Energy Laser Weapon System, which is designed for identifying, tracking, and engaging targets with a High Energy Laser and is operationally deployed with the U.S. Army.

James Batt, BlueHalo’s Chief Growth Officer, emphasized the importance of developing and fielding innovative solutions to ensure mission success and warfighter safety. He noted that Desert Guardian 1.0 provided a “unique opportunity to showcase VigilantHalo’s superior airspace C2 and our C-UAS sensors in real-world conditions.”

Mary Clum, BlueHalo Space and Products Portfolio President, highlighted the company’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions to meet the evolving UAS threat landscape and collaborating with industry leaders and government agencies to ensure continuous innovation.
