Terma acquires OSL Technology to expand C-UAS and infrastructure protection capabilities

Terma A/S has finalized the acquisition of OSL Technology (OSL), a UK-based company specializing in counter-drone security and safety systems. The acquisition supports Terma’s strategy to strengthen its capabilities in C-UAS and critical infrastructure protection.

OSL has experience in civil airspace security, providing solutions for airports and national infrastructure sites to detect, track, and manage drones and other aerial threats. Terma brings expertise in defense and security, including radar and command-and-control systems for naval, air-defense, and infrastructure applications.

The combined organization will offer integrated C-UAS solutions designed to detect, classify, and respond to threats quickly. The approach combines sensors, analytics, and operational practices within an open, modular framework. This integration aims to provide situational awareness across sea, air, and land domains, including compatibility with third-party systems.

Henriette H. Thygesen, CEO of Terma, said the acquisition combines OSL’s proven track record in protecting critical infrastructure with Terma’s long-standing expertise in situational awareness and defense-grade command-and-control systems.

“OSL’s operational performance – from years of protecting critical infrastructure at Heathrow and other major sites – shows it delivers where it matters most,” Thygesen noted, adding that the partnership, informed by recent defense collaborations, offers one of the most comprehensive C-UAS suites available.

She further emphasized that the deal has broader implications beyond Denmark, noting that it “delivers a strong, comprehensive C-UAS solution that can contribute to European flagship projects such as the proposed EU drone initiative.”

Mark Legh-Smith, CEO of OSL, described the acquisition as a significant opportunity for both companies and their customers.

“Joining Terma is an extraordinary opportunity for OSL and our customers,” Legh-Smith said. He highlighted that combining Terma’s multi-domain expertise with OSL’s platform creates “unmatched depth of capability – from sensor to decision to response,” enabling faster detection, smarter classification, and coordinated action.

The companies plan to serve global customers in both civilian and defense sectors, combining OSL’s operational experience with Terma’s technology base and international reach.
